The Colombian-American Chamber of Commerce in Miami renews its board of directors and celebrates its achievements.

On December 4, the CACC held its annual members' meeting, in which its President, Angela Maria Camacho Vergara, presented the management balance for the year 2023 and the new board of directors for 2024 was elected. The event was attended by businessmen, professionals and leaders of the Colombian-American community, representing various sectors and industries. The President, accompanied by the outgoing board of directors, made a positive assessment of her management, highlighting the achievements in terms of financial and organizational strengthening, positioning and relevance of the Chamber and growth in the number of members, as well as in terms of promotion, training, networking and cooperation between members and other entities. The Colombian-American Chamber of Commerce in Miami thanked the members of the 2023 board of directors for their commitment, dedication and contributions to strengthening the organization and the development of business between Colombia and the United States. Likewise, it welcomed the members elected to form the 2024 board of directors, who will assume their duties as of January 1. The new board of directors is made up of people with recognized careers and experience in different fields, who will contribute their vision and leadership to consolidate the growth and projection of the CACC. The diversity of sectors, industries and professions of the members of the 2024 board of directors reflects the richness and dynamism of the Colombian-American community in Miami, which is one of the largest and most active in Florida. We invite all members and those interested in being part of this great organization to continue supporting and participating in the activities and services offered by the chamber, which is in a great moment of expansion and consolidation as a benchmark for business development between Colombia and the United States.

40th Bogotá International Film Festival (Bogocine) - November 16-23, 2023.

The Colombian-American Chamber of Commerce (CCCA) played a prominent role in the 40th Bogotá International Film Festival (Bogocine), which took place from November 16 to 23, 2023.

The CCCA, sponsored by SOMOS The Law Firm and 2C Design, joined this prestigious event that featured more than 200 films from 40 countries and had Miami as a special guest.

This festival provided CCCA with an invaluable platform to strengthen its brand presence, generate networking opportunities with key players in the entertainment sector, and promote cultural and commercial exchange between Colombia and the United States. The Bogotá Film Festival, the oldest in the city, is a fundamental pillar of its cultural sector. At the international level, the Festival awards the Best Film with the Círculo Precolombino in its Gold, Silver, and Bronze categories, and the Círculo Precolombino de Oro to the Best Director.

The festival featured Eugenio Derbez, a Mexican actor, director, producer and screenwriter, winner of the SAG and Emmy awards, who recently starred in and produced "Radical," which premiered at Sundance and won the audience award for Festival Favorite.

The CCCA played an active role in a number of significant events throughout the festival. It was present at the opening press conference, providing a platform to interact with the media. In addition, the CCCA participated in an exclusive business lunch for sponsors at Club el Nogal. This event offered an invaluable opportunity to establish and strengthen relationships with other sponsors and entrepreneurs in the entertainment industry.

One of the highlights of the festival was when the CCCA had the honor of presenting the tribute to the life and work of maestro Santiago Cardenas on the opening night of the festival, before an audience of more than 300 people. This was a moment of great emotion and meaning, as it allowed to recognize and celebrate the contribution of maestro Cardenas to the world of art and culture, while represented by its President, she had the opportunity to speak on behalf of the Colombian-American Community abroad.

The CCCA also participated in a series of conferences and expert panels on current topics, including artificial intelligence in media, for which it engaged Maria Fernanda Ordoñez, CEO and founder of 360AdMedia, who traveled from Connecticut to participate in this panel. These conferences allowed the CCCA to share ideas and learn from experts in these fields, which will undoubtedly enrich our future initiatives and efforts.

In summary, CCCA's participation in the Bogotá International Film Festival was an enriching and productive experience. CCCA is pleased with the opportunities and connections that have been forged during the event and reaffirms its commitment to supporting culture and art. We look to the future with enthusiasm, hoping to continue promoting initiatives that contribute to the development and integration of Colombia and the United States.

5th Networking of Binational Chambers of Colombia: A great experience!

On November 15, 2023, we participated in the 5th Networking of Binational Chambers of Colombia. This event brought together more than 250 Colombian businesspeople and entrepreneurs from different parts of the world with the purpose of promoting strategic business networks and networking spaces.

The event took place at the Metropolitan Club, starting at 7:30 AM. Attendees had the opportunity to interact and establish valuable connections, thus strengthening trade relations between Colombia and other countries.

Guest speaker Imelda Restrepo, Vice President of Economic Development and Competitiveness of the National Association of Industrialists (ANDI), shared her vision on the current economic situation and the outlook for Colombia in 2024.

These events are vital to promote business and investment between two countries, explore market niches where opportunities exist and generate spaces for contact between governments and companies interested in conducting commercial exchanges.

The 5th Networking of Binational Chambers of Colombia proved to be a successful event that reflected the need to strengthen international trade relations. At this type of event, we advance in our positioning as a key player in international trade. At the same time, we open up the possibility of linking up with the association of binational chambers, which allows us to extend the connections of our members to an international network of entrepreneurs.

We made our debut in Bogotá, with a notable presence, as our brand was evident throughout the event, we contributed to the generation of ideas and facilitated the meeting with the presidents of the chambers and potential members; we also provided the opportunity for extended networking to our members in Colombia, which was taken advantage of by Ricardo Sarmiento from Estrella and Julian Martinez from Suricata who participated.

This achievement was possible thanks to the work of Maritza Cárdenas, the sponsorship of SOMOS The Law Firm and 2C Design, and the coordination of Pilar Urrutia.

Our participation in the V Networking of Binational Chambers of Colombia not only enriched the event, but also reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening trade relations between the two countries. We have several actions to undertake that will continue to strengthen its presence and participation in future events.
